Root Canal in 3rd Trimester

I have had an awful toothache all week. Seen the dentist on Monday for an emergency appointment and was advised part of a filling had fallen out and given a temporary one to tie me over until tomorrow when I have an appointment to go back.

Dentist said I will either need it refilled or a root canal/extraction. I have been worrying myself all week about what is going to happen, especially if I need a root canal. I am 33+4 so due relatively soon, potentially will have baby coming earlier as I have a low lying placenta. I have had root canals in the past and they took several appointments to complete so I'm worried we won't have time and/or won't fix the issue and have minimal options for pain management.

Really don't want the tooth pulled if I can avoid it but feel like extraction would be the easier option as it would all be healed within about a week or 2 and no more worries. Any advice?
