Pink cervical mucus! Any success stories?

Hey ☺️

Have any of you had pink cervical mucus early in pregnancy and it turned out to be ok please? Not blood ... I know ladies who have bled and been ok... This isn't texture of blood. It's like the stuff around ovulation, tinged pink.

I'm 4 weeks 3/4 days today and so far have had great like progression and dye stealers. Had HCG bloods this week:
Monday: 240
Yesterday pm: 757

Hard to wrap around how I could be miscarrying today? I've had 4 MCs and they've all had faint lines first before I see the pink mucus.

Any stories to help me stay calm will be much appreciated!

I totally get the sentiment that 'bleeding in pregnancy can happen' , but this isn't blood so I'm more worried. Xx

I have had instances of pink discharge throughout all my first trimeseter. I also had about 10 days of quite a lot of brown discharge near the start which turned out to be a small sub chronic haematoma found on an early scan. The midwife at the EPU told me lots of woman get brown and pink discharge and everything can be perfectly fine. However if you are worried try and get your doctor to refer you for an early scan just in case - I went from being convinced I was going to miscarry to having peace of mind (as much as possible for a major worrier like myself haha). Had a few bits of pink since the early scan and the haematoma would most likely have cleared up so not sure of the cause but the baby was fine at 13 week scan yesterday.

Best of luck! xx

Yes I did with my second. Having had a loss previously I assumed the worst but my baby was absolutely fine and the midwife said it was normal. I did go on to have slightly low papp-A which I read can be associated with early bleeding- but my baby suffered no ill effects of this either. Good luck OP.

Pretty sure I had some. 2 healthy babies (from 2 pregnancies...it didn't mean twins 🤣)

Just updating this thread as I know when I search, sometimes you don't get the outcomes.
Mine lasted 5 weeks and 3 days. I never got the cervical pink spotting again, but the clear blue weeks indicator didn't move past 2-3 when I calculated the hcg threshold for 3+
I had my bloods done the following week and the hcg hadn't advanced anywhere near enough, so now I'm waiting to miscarry. I've had a few bad cramps today.

My advice to anyone who gets spotting - especially if not actual blood but EWCM (this is the early mucus plug starting to come away) - is to take a pregnancy test and keep watching the progression. Also get bloods done weekly. It's not nice to know bad news in advance, but as someone who's now had 5 mcs... it's far better to know it's coming and detach yourself early, than stay in denial and false hope.

I'm sorry OP. Look after yourself xxx

@Rachae I'm really sorry that this is the outcome again for you. It's so unfair. Take care of yourself x

@Rachae I'm so sorry, and 5mcs is a lot. Were you on baby aspirin and progesterone? Might be worth looking into for your next pregnancy, new guidelines have come out regarding progesterone after MCs and baby aspirin seems to help many lovely ladies after having multiple MCs.

Hi everyone,

Just updating here as im having a crazy time! It turns out that the person read the blood HCG reading to me incorrect on the phone and missed off a 0 🙈 Meaning that my HCG was absolutely the right amount compared to last week. The clear blue tests must be BS as the threshold is 2700 for a 3+ and I was over 3000 on Sunday if I work that back.

Had a scan yesterday at 5 weeks 3 days and they said it was measuring ahead! Saw a sac, yolk sac and start of fetal pole. Had my cervix checked again and it's closed and no blood coming from internal. Spotting really can be normal then and unexplained!

@Kaw10 thanks lovely, yes I'm on progesterone, estrogen, Clexane, aspirin and high dose vitamin D xx

That's fantastic news!!! So pleased for you!

Isabellabasil · 27/11/2021 09:22

I'm so happy for you! I actually wanted to say in my previous message that based on your first update it did still feel like there was reason to hope - but then I decided not to say it as I didn't want to get your hopes up if it was bad news in the end. I'm so pleased for you and fingers crossed x
