I was reading on the pregnancy app from week 33, baby will start rapid growth, but mum's weight gain should slow down.. have people found this to be true?

Not sure. I lost weight during pregnancy but to be honest I had weight to loose.

Baby gains most of their weight in the 3rd trimester so it's normal for mum to gain some too.
In my most recent I gained most fat/weight in the 1st 16wk, between 16 & 36wk my weight stayed around the same. Last few weeks I gained a bit, I had a fair bit of swelling as I was less active and baby was born at 38+6 via cat3 c-section. I gained far too much early on with carb loading due to the nausea and food aversion. I lost 2/3 of the total weight gain after birth, slowly losing that fat gain now baby is 3mth, not rushing to trim back down though just like I'm slowly regaining my strength levels in the gym.
