So I took a clear blue rapid test one night and the allotted time that I was supposed to wait said they test was negative. I went back the next morning just to look (because I kept the test) and it was a dark blue line that read positive. I took another test a few days later and waited the ten minutes and it said negative and then went back later on in the day and it was another dark blue positive. This can’t be a coincidence right because evaporation lines are usually lighter and discolored. Someone please hellppp!

I must have took 5-6 clearblues last month, all turned blue positive after the timeframe - unfortunately I am in the TWW again and won’t be using clearblue this time! I thought there was no way that many would be false but I’m afraid so.

Hey @Confusedasf123 how many days late is AF for you?

Confusedasf123 · 16/11/2021 21:52

@Teacaketotty would you recommend any other test instead. I heard the red dye ones might be better. It’s just weird because I’ve had a negative and it’s stayed that way but it’s just so weird that this month two positives have shown up after the time frame.

@Geemmm so I’m actually supposed to start my period in a day or two but the clear blue tests say they are about 99% accurate a day or two before my period so I was just checking. It’s just weird that there would be two false positives so I’m not even sure at this point if they are or not.

@Confusedasf123 I know clearblue do a 6 day early digital now on Amazon, or a first response.

Confusedasf123 · 16/11/2021 22:01

@Teacaketotty should I even trust clear blue tho altogether?

Sorry but they’re not “false positives” as they’re not positives. There’s a reason that you’re supposed to read the result within a set time window, as explicitly clear in the instructions.

Teacaketotty · 16/11/2021 22:03

@Confusedasf123 I would trust the digital one as it will give you the result in the correct time frame, the only reason we’ve been getting false positives is because we are looking at the tests past the 10 min mark. Whatever test you do just throw it out after the initial check to be safe.

Teacaketotty · 16/11/2021 22:04

“False positive” in the sense it looks positive but is not.

Confusedasf123 · 16/11/2021 22:07

@Teacaketotty thank you so much for the help! And also Thankyou for clarifying what I meant as well.

@Confusedasf123 yeah I would maybe wait a day or two until after you've missed your period and test again (easier said than done I know!) And hopefully they will show nice clear positives for you. I have used them and had reliable results at only 4 weeks so you can still try the clear blue tests if you are happy with them mrs.

Confusedasf123 · 17/11/2021 13:29

@Geemmm okay, Thankyou so much!
