I am almost 38 weeks and would love to know what were your 'pending' labour signs. She is already engaged, but that is as expected. Would love to have a little longer warning.

The day I turned 37 weeks I had watery discharge in the morning and some mucus plug. I knew it was my mucus plug because it was stringy, jelly and sticky. And clear. More came away the next day. Then I had more frequent bowel movements. Like 3-4 every day 😳 not sure if this is related? But I didn't have a clear out the day I went into labour like other people have claimed. I felt very irritable last week on the day 38 weeks. I had some watery discharge early hours of the morning that trickled down my leg which made me think 'omg waters!?'. But it didn't happen again throughout the day so just put it down to watery discharge. But then last Tuesday 38+1 around 3:30am, I felt it again. I grabbed a towel and thought it was just discharge. But more came in very small quantities. I put on a pad and rang triage. I went in later that morning to be assessed and they examined and said yep, they are waters and would have to to induced if i didn't progress into labour naturally after a period of time. After a very long week, finally my little girl came on Saturday morning when I would be 38+5. Sorry long post, but I promised I would share my experience after reading so many really helpful posts on mumsnet!

I didn't have a single sign until the first contraction at 40+4! (Minus the mucus plug coming out, but that was at least a week and a half or so before and I'd given up holding out hope 😂)

Baby was born at 41 weeks exactly!

I was symptom spotting like crazy from 38 weeks but my first real sign was a full on contraction at 39+5, there was no missing it or pretending it was Braxton Hicks. DD was born at 40+1 so it was long and slow for me!

It'll happen when baby is ready 🥰

My waters broke ahead of labour. For about an hour before my stomach was uncomfortable - like eaten too much and then they literally just went pop - in bed. So not much notice.

When the contractions started just a low back ache and to begin with again I thought it was tummy problems and kept going to the loo for nothing to happen.

Good luck!
