Early scan 5 weeks

Hey everyone! I am 5 weeks pregnant and have an early scan on Thursday I'll be 5+4. Has anyone had a scan this early and seen anything? (Pics would be great). I am only having the scan due to previous ectopic. But I've had a MMC before too and I know it will devastate me if no fetal pole or HB yet (although I know it's probably too early). I really do not want to go so if anyone has any experience with scans this early then please let me know!! TYI x

My hcg levels were over 3500 and my 5+4 scan didn't show anything at all, not even the sac.

My 6+1 scan showed the sac, baby and heart beat!

I was being scanned early due to possible ectopic as well. Good luck! 😊

That's what I'm so scared of @dg93 that they won't see anything and I'll be so stressed from there and not able to cope 🤦‍♀️ they couldn't see anything on my last scan but my HCG was only 160 something. My doctor refused to do bloods this time. And said I had to wait to be seen by EPU. I'm glad everything worked out for you ❤️ I am sooo scared!!

I completely understand, I was exactly the same after a previous miscarriage, I couldn't eat/sleep from panicking so much, and honestly was an absolute mess! Easier said than done, try and stay positive, I hope everything goes well for you, keep us updated x

I think you need to prepare yourself not to see anything yet, @eastview, as hard as that is. I had a scan at 5+5 and there was just a sac; no heartbeat, no foetal pole. It was just too early. I saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks and DD is almost two now.

Every day feels like an eternity at this stage, and you just want certainty and good news, I remember well how hard it is!

I was scanned at 5+4 (also previous ectopic) and could see the pregnancy sac and the yolk sac, but nothing else. The nurse scanning me told me that that was all she expected to see. I was relieved it wasn’t ectopic but as time went on, worried I hadn’t seen a heartbeat.

Seven weeks later and the 12 week scan showed a very active baby. 5 weeks is really, really early and like a lot of pregnancy-related things, you have to be patient and trust the professionals!

Good luck OP, it feels like forever but the chances are all will be fine.
