When did you have your first midwife appointment?

Almost 9 weeks and still haven’t had any contact from a midwife. Not too sure when to chase up, when did you first have contact/see your midwife?

i had my first midwife appointment at 10 weeks, if you don't hear anything soon i'd definitely chase it up :) have you got a date for your first scan yet?

i think about 11 weeks. but i had the appt booked at about 9. if you haven't heard within the next couple of days i'd chase

GinnyBee · 15/11/2021 15:31

I saw mine at 10+4 and she had called me to book it in a couple weeks prior due to being on leave the previous week before my appointment.

Heruka · 15/11/2021 15:32

Was 9/10weeks both times. I’m sure I was given my appts over phone when I called to book, it’ll be different in different areas though.

I was 12 weeks, contacted GP at 6 weeks (HG started earlier this time) and nobody contacted me for ages, my appointment was done over the phone then scan and everything were rushed through. Midwife is still shocking to get hold of and when you do see her she's in a rush to finish early.
Keep contacting them (west Yorkshire area and I'm now 30 weeks)

I referred at 5 weeks, chased at 7 and they couldn't fit me in til 10. I'd definitely ring them, although getting through can be a nightmare

Ahh thank you for all your responses, definitely doesn’t sound unreasonable if I chase up in a couple of days time then. I don’t have a direct contact number for the midwives unfortunately, I rang my doctors and they said the secretary would organise 🤷🏻‍♀️ guess I’ll just have to chase through my doctors too. And no I don’t have a scan date yet either xx

I self referred at about 5 weeks and then saw my midwife at just over 8 weeks. I'd give them a week and then chase as they'll need to get you booked in for your 12 week scan

Marden11302 · 15/11/2021 19:41

I was 12 weeks and had my scan the following day ☺️

I contacted the GP at 7 weeks. Saw midwife at 8weeks 4 days. She booked my 12 week scan there and then, as well as my 16 week appointment with her.
