How far off can ultrasounds be?

Is it possible for a 11 week ultrasound scan to be off for 4 weeks or over?

I'm not expert but I did have a lot of scans during my pregnancy and the difference between an 11 week scan, a 7 week scan and a 15 week scan are huge!

So based on that if say there is absolutely no way anyone conducting a scan would be off by 4 weeks.

dementedpixie · 14/11/2021 16:11

Doubt it. There's a big difference in size/development in a 4 week period

girlmom21 · 14/11/2021 16:11

It's almost impossible.

ObnoxiousFeminist · 14/11/2021 16:12

They can be off early on but certainly not by that much. The difference just a week makes at that stage is astounding.

GuckGuckDoose · 14/11/2021 16:26

Absolutely not by anywhere near that amount

IslaInthesun · 14/11/2021 16:26

Not by 4 weeks

Poppiesway1 · 14/11/2021 16:29

There is a 10% / 5 day error margin for ultrasounds

Very unlikely unless you conceived the month prior to what you thought you did. My scan being 4 weeks off was how I realised I'd had a missed miscarriage. Went for a private scan at 10 weeks to be told my pregnancy was measuring 6 weeks, I expected to be maybe a week off with dates but 4 weeks was not possible. EPU were very helpful after that happened. Do contact someone if you're concerned and obviously I hope this doesn't end the same for you Flowers
