Hey guys, just need some help.

Basically I just had my 12 week scan. I am 13 weeks today. I was just wondering when I make an appointment to see a midwife?

I haven't seen a midwife since my first ever appointment which was bloods and a urine test.

Just unsure if it's a weekly thing or if I can make appointments whenever or if I have to wait till I'm a certain amount of weeks etc..

I'm just clueless😂

You would usually be seen by the community midwife around 16 weeks. This may be face to face or telephone as unless any particular needs or isn't a clinical appointment, more a catch up and a chat. Often a good time to talk about what to expect in regards to getting baby move etc.

Then you are seen around 24/25 weeks, 28 weeks and so on with appointments getting closer together after that.

If you don't have a date for your 16 week then give your community midwife a ring.

You usually have one at 16 weeks so I would book one in for then. I didn't have another until 25 weeks but have had appts every 3 weeks since then (32 weeks at the moment).

Some trusts will automatically book your 16 week appt for you but I had to book my own in.

16 week appointment for you next @alixmay 🥰

Maybe chase up or they might contact you in the next few days. My appointment was made at my first visit with the midwife, although everywhere is different. My midwife is going to try and listen into baby and do the usual checks/go over blood results/tests from the scan etc x

I have to book my next appointment as I leave the current one, so I would give them a ring. The NHS website has a list of standard antenatal appointments x

I get all the appointments booked for me. There's usually a midwife appointment around 16 weeks, then a scan at 20 weeks, and after that the appointments get closer together.

I had my 12-week scan on Monday when they made a list of all the appointments I need, and I've already got my 20-week scan appointment, a consultant appointment at 21 weeks (I have no idea what for) and glucose tolerance test at 28 weeks. My appointed midwife is on leave this week so will probably get the 16-week appointment booked next week.

You might find this helpful - appointments for first time mums are on the left.
