Since my 2nd trimester I’ve had less sleep as expected wether it’s from getting up to go for a wee, being too hot or sore hips ect but last 2 weeks (I’m now In 3rd trimester) I wake up on the hour every single hour, a lot of the time for no apparent reason 😩 at this point I’m sure I’ll have more sleep with a newborn 😂 luckily I can usually go back to sleep quickly but I’ve still got 7 weeks left At work and it’s really starting to make me grumpy 😂 is this normal ? How are people combatting this

Yep it's pretty normal I'm afraid. I'm 39 weeks and I've been like it for the last 8 weeks or so. It's gotten much worse in the last 10 days too. Prepare yourself!! Sorry, no words of wisdom, it's just bloody uncomfortable.

I don’t know how to help but I remember thinking both times I was less tired with a newborn than I was in the 3rd trimester. My pregnancy insomnia was horrific!

I m 35 weeks, almost 36 and am battling the same issues.. waking up constantly in the night due to needing a wee, sore hips, hot feet etc unfortunately it seems no matter what I try I've not been able to solve it but it has helped a bit to make me more comfortable..

Reducing temperature in the bedroom just before bed so it's a bit cooler
Showering before bed to relax myself
Stolen my dogs cooling mat for my feet
A big pregnancy pillow to cuddle around
Nothing too sugary a few hours before bed (but I'm diabetic)

It's not solved it I'm still getting up a lot but it's reduced a little in my case. I was finding getting to sleep difficult too initially but that's resolved itself now.

Don't have any suggestions but can offer sympathy... 33 weeks on Monday and for the last month, maybe 2, I can sleep fine for a few hours but then wake every half an hour after that until about 5am when it's game over. I'm exhausted all day! I am going to stop napping in the day and I hope that'll help. Good luck, I'm actually really encouraged by what @jamsandwich1 said about being more exhausted in pregnancy than with a newborn... people keep telling me to enjoy my sleep now and I can't imagine getting less sleep than this!

It’s true! I fell asleep by 9 every night but after 12 was awake for hours. Second time around I got more sleep with a 22 month old and newborn. At least when my baby was asleep at night I could sleep too. I remember I would just fall asleep sitting up with my glasses on as soon as I put her down.
