Positive Test Then A Negative Test! HELP'

Hi all!

I have been on contraception since I was 16 and never had any scares. I take my pill like clock work I haven't been poorly or done anything for my contraception to not be affective. In the past two weeks I have noticed my boobs being sore, Fatigue and tiredness constantly no matter how much rest I get, slight nausea and then today I've had some spotting so I decided to take a test. I obviously thought it would be negative and was just ruling it out to be safe but then I had a positive result!! The Initial result did look negative and then I can't be sure how long after but we looked and had a positive result! My next test and digital test a couple of hours later was negative. I've googled and googled and I'm wondering if it's a possible evaporation line, my friend who has recently had a baby is positive that the test is positive!!
OPINIONS PLEASE!!

Apparently false positives are incredibly rare on pregnancy tests but if you left it for a prolonged period of time it might have skewed the result. Try taking a third x

Exact same thing happened to me. Been on contraception since I was 15 never missed the pill etc. My boobs were KILLING, nausea etc all the suspect symptoms. Took a test and was a faint positive. Took two the next day which were negative. Then my period came the following day!

I would wait a few days (hard I know!) and retest first thing in the morning and it’s important you follow the instructions Re when to read the test - I.e it should be after a few minutes not a few hours.

Update:

Now had 3 negatives.
And started spotting today, even though I'm still taking my pill and not due a period until next week. I'm so confused.
