How different were your pregnancies?

In just curious! My first I had very few symptoms and felt like my test must've been wrong! Then at about 10 weeks I had on and off nausea for a few weeks. I became incredibly tired and suffered insomnia towards the end. I feel like I got off very likely and I'm wondering how my second will be.

My pregnancies were very different, DS1 sick every evening, never in the morning strangely! Went off so many foods that I usually like, could face tea the milk tasted sour. Chocolate I avoided too. Couldn’t get enough of honeydew melon. DS2 didn’t feel sick at all, became obsessive about Broccoli, could eat enough of it, never even liked it before. Totally different babies too, I hardly carried an water with DS1 but loads with DS2, DS1 was a dream baby, slept well, very contented, no bother at any stage, DS2 was such a bad sleeper, never known a baby like him and the reason, a 3rd was totally out of the question! Labour was easy with both of my two though thankfully, natural births 10hrs DS1 2.5hrs DS2. Good luck OP, my two are 20 & 18 now and best friends as well as brothers

4 pgs... they were fairly similar. More heartburn with later ones.

CoodleMoodle · 12/11/2021 18:23

2 pregnancies here. Both were fairly similar, now that I think about it. Nausea and total exhaustion in first trimester, heartburn/reflux started in second trimester (ended up on meds for it both times), a combination of reflux and exhaustion in the third! Plus the general aches and pains. Both were fairly smooth, but the heartburn was horrendous.

With DD I got preeclampsia at 40wks, then she was born at 40+6. Didn't happen with DS but he came at 38+5 so who knows what would've happened if he hadn't been so desperate to get out!

Mine were very very similar. Even down to dates! The only difference was that I had anterior placenta with my first, and posterior with my second, so I felt movements a lot earlier and far more movements with number 2.
Births were almost identical as well, but my two daughters are quite different.

I've been pregnant three times. Sadly the morning sickness got worse each time!

ohtwatbollocks · 12/11/2021 18:48

In my case quite different, really sick with hyperemesis in the first, super tired too, in my second I got cholestasis but not as sick, nausea and sick maybe once every couple of days, not as tired. I got awful SPD in both though.

My two successful pregnancies were very similar. All symptoms slightly worse the second time around, though, and I also suffered quite badly from pelvic pain with baby 2 but not at all with baby 1.
The weeks during which I had symptoms in the pregnancy I lost at 12 weeks were less severe and more sporadic than my first trimester symptoms in either successful pregnancy.

First pregnancy was easy. Birth was a nightmare and baby was Satan's screaming off spring who cried for 8 hours a day for four months.

Second pregnancy was awful. I was huge and felt like death. Bloody pressure was borderline high the entire pregnancy. Sugar and protein were pretty constant in my urine sample from 28 weeks. My blood sugars were borderline GD and I had fortnightly GTT. Oh and I got told at 30 weeks, my job didn't exist any more. I ended up with bells palsy, pre-eclampsia and having him at 38 weeks. The birth went well and he was a chilled out, easy baby. But the entire experience put me off having any more.

Really different! My first pregnancy I absolutely loved being pregnant, no sickness, felt great. Second pregnancy, really bad sickness up to 8 times a day, fatigue and definitely no pregnancy glow!

A bit of both really. Both girls, first I had UTI, bad nausea, low blood pressure and really bad indigestion but felt and looked really well throughout. Uncomplicated pregnancy in terms of her health but complicated induction and birth.

Her sister I had much fewer symptoms and health problems of my own (although I felt and looked like crap and physically struggled towards the end even though she was only about half a pound bigger) but there were lots of borderline/suspected issues during pregnancy and I had about 10 scans. Induced again but was in and out in 24 hours.
