Hematoma - Positive Stories

So after 5 hours in Triage I am home! I was in overnight on Tuesday also after having some bleeding at work, including a bleed whilst on the ward and then a small bleed at home after being discharged. I have O- blood and needed to pop in today for an injection (which I called yesterday to question and got this booked in). I am 13+4 weeks today.

They did all the necessary checks such as my BP and urine, tried to find baby's heartbeat on the doppler (too early) so I got a scan and baby was absolutely fine - the same as Tuesday which was great.

It has been confirmed that I have a small Hematoma along the sac and placenta which is the cause for the bleeding that I've had. The doctor did another speculum and confirmed my cervix is tightly closed and she can't see a drop of blood which is good news. Hopefully the placenta absorbs the blood from the bruise or I may have some more bleeding! The doctor seemed really confident that it should be gone by my 20 week scan so fingers and toes crossed. AntiD injection and I was sent home to take it easy.

Just looking for some positive stories for anybody else that has been through similar?

I've had two with very different outcomes. A pregnancy last year unfortunately led to mc. The consultant said they don't cause mc but make you more susceptible. My bleeding though was minimal, never red. This pregnancy one was randomly found at 6 week scan but I never bled and by 12weeks it was gone. Now 24 weeks. Lots of luck to you sure you'll be ok.

I had one with my second pregnancy, I had a lot of bleeding which went on for weeks. Then by the 20 week scan there was no sign of it at all. Every time I had a scan I was sure baby was gone, but she hung on in there. Baby is now 5 years old!

I had a haematoma in both pregnancies. Bled from 10-18 weeks in first and 14-19 weeks in second. Have two grown up DS's now. Good luck with your pregnancy! Hope everything settles down soon.

Me! And also O- blood so I was in MAU for Anti D a lot.

DD is now nearly 2.

I've not had bleeding in four days now! Bump appears to be growing and my boobs are very sore - I've literally been drinking water non stop, relaxing as much as possible and no heavy lifting.

Is it a good sign that there is no blood? The doctor did say the placenta can absorb it so hoping that's the case. I know there may be bleeding in time to come but I'm feeling a bit more hopeful compared to earlier in the week!
