Hi all I had a slight bleed at 5 weeks lasted 24hours brown a little bright red and back to brown with bad period pain but I had an early scan at 6+6 they found a heartbeat but yesterday afternoon I wiped brown again saw my go who isn’t worried at the moment as I have no cramps but they are calling me again this morning to see how i am. This is my first pregnancy and I wasn’t expecting 2 different bleeds should I push them to refer me to the epu for a scan as I’ve been diagnosed with hg but not yet dehydrated and my sickness has now become tolerable without medication and my boobs have stopped hurting I’m so confused

I did lovely, and I’m actually due today. So all can be well.

I was diagnosed with a subchronic haematoma, took about 3 weeks for it to clear up, I had brown discharge for quite some time after. But I didn’t have any cramps and that is key.

Unfortunately scans can only show you a snapshot of that moment. MC’s cannot be prevented, in some ways I found that comforting because I knew it was out of my control. BUT I wouldn’t worry just yet, nothing to suggest anything is wrong bleeding is quite common.

If you start to get fresh red blood with clots/tissue, then push for another scan. They can also do a blood test to check your HCG levels over 48 hours, in viable pregnancies the levels should double every 48 hours.

Keep hydrated, make sure you eat and get some bed rest. No heavy lifting, just be sensible xxx

I had two small bleeds - one at 6 weeks and one around 7. Never lasted longer than 24 hours and was brown coloured. I was also diagnosed with a subchronic hematoma and both times seemed to start after me and my OH had been intimate.
Everythings worked out ok at the moment and It's all healed now.

Try not to panic I know it's so hard OP but if a scan will put your mind at ease then it is defo best to go for one Thanks

I had 3. One of which was heavy enough to send me to the Early Pregnancy Assesment Unit at our local hospital.

That pregnancy is now at university studying astrophysics

Thanks ladies you’ve put my mind at ease! I’ve heard about one bleed but not more than that I’m trying to get more progesterone pessaries from my clinic so waiting a call back

Not me personally, but my sister and two of my colleagues have. Sister is due in just over a week, while both colleagues have had their babies.

Hope all goes well for you.

Hi , congratulations on your pregnancy. I had one massive bleed followed by a brown blood on tissue paper a week or two later . I also had a SCH. I’m due next week. Both times I referred myself to EPU as I needed to be scanned for my own peace of mind. Wishing you the very best x t to me it just sounds like the old blood making its way out. And if you can, try and refer yourself to EPU for a scan , I had to go to my local a&e dept
