Bleeding after 12 week scan

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Midwife says all ok and to just keep an eye on it so I'm not overly concerned (MC bleed from last pregnancy was different so hoping it's not another) but it was just so odd!

We had our 12 week scan yesterday, thankfully it went well (first pregnancy after miscarriage so was nervous going in) with baby looking great. I have had pretty awful OHSS so my ovaries are still very large and now have a few cysts on. Due to this the scan tech had to really dig in to my tummy to get a good view of the baby. It wasn't painful at all just pressure that left my skin red and bless him he did apologise for being a bit rough.

Eight hours later and when I went to the loo I was bleeding bright red and brown "bitty" blood. Enough to cover the toilet paper and one drop into the toilet. This carried on as brown bitty discharge last night and a little this morning. Having had zero bleeding so far I was really shocked!

Has anyone else experienced bleeding after an external scan?

I had this during my 12 week scan, I went to the loo to empty my bladder a bit and wiped pinkish. I asked the sonographer about it when I went back into the room and she couldn't see a cause when she resumed the scanning. I have cervical erosion, so think the pressure applied during the scan allbeit external may have aggravated it 🤷 all was fine in the end though

Hi, I had this the day after my 12 week scan, it lasted 24 hours and then stopped. I'm not 21 weeks and all is well. I think everything is so sensitive that if they have to apply a bit more pressure it can cause bleeding. I haven't had any more since.

Thanks so much for your replies. It's pretty much stopped now thankfully so fingers crossed all is well! I suppose after everything previously I shouldn't be surprised anymore about the weird ways of pregnancy

Yes. Is this an ivf baby? I had OHSS and bleeding at 13 weeks. Was a one off and all was fine.
