Bleed @ 13+1 weeks - Cervix closed

Today has been pretty traumatic and I am just needing to get this off my chest...

At work today around 12.30pm I wiped some bright red blood which eased the more I wiped and nothing in my urine. Was asked to be seen by triage as I have an O- blood type and require an anti-D rejection regardless. They carried out a speculum and confirmed my Cervix was closed and there was some blood sitting there.

We were kindly given a scan straight away and saw baby kicking away, looking absolutely fine with a lovely healthy heartbeat. Two Sonographers believe the bleed could be from the placenta, however, it is early too tell.

I am being kept in overnight to be monitored - my BP is normal and the bleeding has stopped/I have no cramps.My partner had to leave around 4pm to get our son from nursery so I'm feeling a little lonely but not nearly as upset as earlier! I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and been ok?

This exact thing happened to me except I was sent home. Everything was absolutely fine and he's now 18 months old 🥰

They never found the cause of the bleeding but mentioned it could be as the placenta takes over? Or just something aggravating the cervix (won't go into detail) 🤦🏼‍♀️

Had exactly the same at 13 weeks and it was so scary. The bleeding lasted about two weeks and I never found out what caused it. But that was four years ago now and my DS is perfectly fine. Hope you get on ok

I've had no more bleeding since my post or cramps! Just finished some toast and watching "Just Go With It" ❤️

I'm hoping I get the all clear tomorrow and can go home. I keep sitting looking at the scan from today! It's so true when they say no pregnancy is the same... I didn't think twice with my first!

This happened to me at 14+5 I got up to get lunch from the fridge and blood just ran down my legs. I was terrified went straight off to get checked, cervix closed couldn’t see where blood was coming from. I’m now 32+5 and all is well. Sending love 💕

Just been discharged from the hospital! No further bleeding and all seems to be ok 🤞🏼
