Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this. I've had it for the last few days. It usually happens just once.

I think I need to go to the loo but not quite sure which, followed by a real pain in lower abdomen, followed by going to the loo and needing to do nothing.

Is this normal? Am I being stupid and this is the odd contraction? I'm now 35 weeks

Everything feels strange in the later stages of pregnancy though. It's because all your organs are squashed out of place and pressing on each other and on nerves etc. It's likely that it could be a contraction, or nothing. Things can feel quite strange and alarming and be absolutely normal- I used to have the sensation of a head dropping down into my pelvis everytime I emptied my bladder. Very very weird.

If you're worried though, ask your midwife.

You're right. Generally 'weird' does sum up how I feel physically. Seems to be par for the course all the way throgh pregnancy in fact Thanks.

Thats how my contractions started. It felt like griping pains, like I needed a poo started in the night and it took me ages to realise that the pains were regular. They then got stronger and more like proper contractions. Good Luck!

[hshock] Thanks Mrsmurk - at least I know what they might feel like!
