17 weeks - should I worry about lack of weight gain?

Before pregnancy I was BMI 23.8 (H: 156cm, W: 58kg). During the first 8 weeks I put on ~2-3 kg and weighted ~60-61kg. This was mainly due exhaustion kicking in ~5 pm which made me very inactive (I ate normally or even slightly less calorie wise). I am 17 weeks, eat normally (which I believe is recommended at this stage), do some moderate exercise (yoga or walking) and my weight today was 60.6 kg. Should I start getting worried? According to all advice I found after weeks 12 I should be putting ~0.5kg a week, so I should be ~62-63 kg by now.

I had a private scan a weeks ago and the baby was at ~50th percentile for all measures they took (similar to 12 week) so I thought everything looked good, but maybe I should start getting more concerned?

Hey, I'm currently 25 weeks and have only put on 6lbs... this is my 2nd pregnancy, and in my first (only made it to 32 weeks) I only gained a total of 8lbs.
My first was a decent enough weight for her gestation, and this one is currently on 50th centile so also looking pretty decent.
I wouldn't worry about how much weight you are gaining, as long as baby is looking good, you may be losing weight yourself, but your baby is gaining well, so therefor not much difference on the scales.

No, some people do not gain weight or maybe only in the last month or so. I have only ever gained a few pound and end up a stone lighter after delivery than my conceptuon weight, I basically grow the baby out of the fat stored in my arse.

@stairgates I wouldn't be mad if the same happened in my case :D

Not at all. My first daughter I put on 21lbs and didn't put any on u till around 26 weeks. She was 7lb13 my last daughter I only put 3lb on and ended up weighing less the week after she was born and she was 7lb14

I'm 28 weeks and 3kg less than my booking in weight which was 5kg less than my pre conception weight! Apparently my sickness has wiped me out but baby is still growing strong

Don't worry. Everyone is different. I was 58kg before pregnancy (170cm) and I put on 8kgs in my first trimester. Only 2 kg since and I'm 31 weeks now. They say you should gain around half kg per week, but it just doesn't happen for me. I was also worried my bump will measure small (everyone says how small it is) but it's measures perfectly and the baby is actually on the bigger side. I guess it's my body type...
You might start gaining weight later, but the main thing is that the midwife will measure you bump after 25 weeks. If it's growing as it should, it really doesn't matter if you don't put the advised gain on.

I wouldn't worry at this stage. A lot of women only really put weight on in the second half of pregnancy. I'm nearly 15 weeks and still about 5-6kg down on my pre-pregnancy weight (I dropped 8 or 9kg overall due to extreme sickness and have only been able to eat again for the last week or two). This is my third pregnancy and I don't think I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight before at least 20 weeks either of the previous times. But overall I ended up putting on a reasonable amount both times -- towards the lower end of the normal range but definitely not low enough to cause concern. As others have said, in the latter part of pregnancy they focus mostly on the 'bump' measurement anyway. With DS2 they were constantly telling me my bump was too small but DS2 was absolutely fine and a completely normal size. I think I just wasn't huge because I'd lost so much weight to start with! I still don't have a hint of a bump this time round even though it's my third go.

I think everyone’s different & so are all babies! You all sound v lucky to me.. I was 57kgs at the start & I’m now pushing 80 😬 I have excess fluid so baby is essentially in an enormous, heavy swimming pool. As a result at 30 weeks he is quite muscley and now about to pile on fat until the end. Joy! I feel like a Christmas pudding. I hope when my waters go it will be epic and I’ll be able to breathe again 🤣 good luck all xxxxx
