Hi, don't know if anyone can help but just wondering whether anyone shares the same experience.

For about 4 weeks now maybe and progressively getting much worse I have had pain in my left rib round the back, front and sides which is horrible. It means I can't sit for more than about 4 minutes so I can no longer go in cars, eat my dinner pain free etc. It's making me miserable.

Does anyone have any idea of what this is or do you have it too? I'm going to have to go to the doctors I think as it's really getting in the way of my daysSad

Hi OP - that sounds pretty uncomfortable! I had something like this with my first pregnancy and it was because DC1 was breech - her little head was wedged into my ribs (I found later) and I had to sit up very straight and try to push down on my bump to relieve the pain. Also couldn’t eat much - had to survive on snacks through the last trimester. Are you seeing a midwife any time soon?

I also had terrible rib pain from around this stage! I was carrying so high and her feet and knees were constantly stuck in my ribs on the right hand side. Sitting for any period would be so uncomfortable. I found sitting up straight helped so much (sitting on a birthing ball helped - I would swap my chair for it at work sometimes.) Like PP I could hardly eat anything either. Sleeping was a bloody nightmare too, particularly when you’re only supposed to sleep on your side - I found my back much more comfortable for my ribs.
Unfortunately it only started to improve once she dropped right near the end. I feel your pain OP, hope things improve for you x

Yep had this with both dc from about 26 weeks, this last preg he had his foot firmly planted in my right rib ( was seen on scan a few times) Changing position and pain killers helped. My consultant did run bloods to make sure it wasn't pre eclampsia.

Could also be rib flare.

I had this on my last pregnancy, the consultant put it down to the position of the baby. Nothing really helped during the pregnancy but I was totally pain-free after giving birth.

Thanks for the replies!
Nice to hear other people go through this but not nice to hear it lasts a while! Can't even lie down in the bed now because it hurts so much Sad so depressing
