Hi I was just wondering if anyone else had a scan at 10 weeks then were booked in two weeks later for a 12 week scan? I’m worried as this doesn’t seem the norm. Thanks 😊

Yep that happened me, GP had me down as 2 weeks ahead of my due date so rocked up to my 12 week scan at 10 weeks. Doctor wanted to see me again but I think they do that to make sure you're comforted by the growth of baby (I was genuinely surprised what 2 weeks difference made) and just so they can see a little bit more in terms of scan details
Everything was perfect both times even though I was very anxious. It's totally normal from what I've heard.
Best of luck x

For a dating scan to be most accurate it has to be done between 11+0 and 13+6. So yes, if you had an early scan before this gestation they will call you in again during this window to accurately date you.

@Maighread thank you for responding to me so quick. i’m a very anxious person so cannot wait to just go and see if all is ok. has put my mind at rest a bit your comment. another doctor of mine which i see just for my mental health said this was not normal and since then i have been really worried. thanks again 😊 x

They can’t do the necessary checks at 10 weeks so they will need to scan again, it’s nothing to worry about.

@stalkersaga thanks for your reply. I don’t think the other doctor I saw obviously knows too much about babies and obstetrics as he said this was not the norm. thank you x

A doctor treating mental health will not have all the fine detail on maternity services so that needn’t worry you.

@hotchoccy12 meet your sister on the anxious front lol ! Have my 20 week scan (21w4d) and I'm bricking it haha !
After my scans at 7w 10w and 12w I was so relieved and happy to see the growth and it helps to think that it's an oppurtunity to see the lil bean :)

@Maighread it’s horrible isn’t it! especially if you find it hard to distract. I find waiting the worst part. i am looking forward to seeing them again and just telling myself that all is probably ok. i hope your nerves settle soon Smile sending some calming vibes your way xx
