stomach bug/virus in third trimester lasting 5 days

I started feeling really unwell Thursday with stomach pains & nausea, not sleeping because of stomach pain & bloating etc. felt like I had fever alternating between hot & cold but no temperature.

Saturday night it got so bad in the middle of the night horrendous nausea (feeling like needed to vomit but actually couldn't), went into hospital & was tested for all kinds of things in there - everything came back normal. I am 32 weeks pregnant & baby is thankfully fine. Doctor said most likely a bug or virus & gave me fluids, sent me home. still feeling horrendous & had really bad diarrhoea (sorry tmi!) this morning - I'm worried if this is just a virus - normally when I read about bugs/virus in pregnancy seems people are only sick for 24-48 hours - has anyone experienced anything lasting this long before? can't actually remember what it feels like to not feel sick or be able to sleep!

Hey Pheebs, I hope you are feeling better! I have had the same symptoms for the last 2 weeks now (not actually been sick though). Went to triage today as the belly cramps were getting stronger, was advised to send a stool sample off to check for bugs but they did mention this is common in pregnancy as our stomachs are more sensitive and sometimes can take weeks to flush out any viral infections! They wasn’t worrying as baby is still active and as long as you are drinking a lot of fluids the baby will be fine! I am sure it is fine and hopefully won’t last as long as mine :) good luck!
