Hi ladies,
I’m 28 + 1 and for the last 2 nights I have had the most horrendous middle back pain, to the point where it’s basically keeping me up all night no matter what I do!
I recently got diagnosed with a UTI so have been taking macroBID for the last 3 days. Could it potentially be a sign that it’s spread to my kidneys?!
It feels like a stabbing pain right in my middle back between my shoulder blades and right in the spine.. it kinda feels like heartburn at the same time, but I’ve taken gaviscon tablets and they have done nothing to help!
I’ve resorted to taking paracetamol tablets for the last 2 nights (something I absolutely hate doing as I’m so against medication in pregnancy, I had a very bad experience with my first!) and whilst it eases the pain slightly, it clearly hasn’t done the trick in eliminating the pain altogether.
I can’t bare the thought of having to sleep on the sofa for the next 12 weeks just to try and get some slight relief to be able to sleep, so any advice would be helpful!

Could it be a sign of pre e? Kidney infection? Just another annoying pregnancy symptom? Is it worth going to A&E for? As GP surgeries at the moment won’t see you at all Sad

That sounds horrible - sorry you are going through this. Probably best to call 111, and they can at least hopefully get a GP to speak to you.

If you haven't already got through to someone on 111 then definitely give your GP a call, they most certainly are seeing people and hopefully you can get an appointment.
