Did you manage to get good 4D pics at 32 weeks?

My friend kindly bought me one of those 3D scan sessions last week as a surprise. I didn't mind waiting to see him in real life in about 7 weeks Grin but obviously don't want to waste the voucher. I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow and the optimum time is 28-32 so hoping it's going to be ok! Did you do anything before the scan to make the pics any clearer? Not sure if I'll be able to go back after tomorrow so hoping he will play ball on the day! Thank you.

What a lovely gift! I had my scan today ( I'm 31 weeks) Managed to get a decent photo although the baby kept covering her face with her arms. It's all depends on the baby position at the time. Even though the picture wasn't clear, it was definitely an amazing experience!

May depend on your placenta position too. The scanning place I went to say for anterior placenta they don't recommend booking after 30 weeks.

Thank you! Ended up getting gorgeous photos so very pleased Grin (posterior placenta and transverse baby = great combo!)

I’ve been doing 4D scans for many many years.. we don’t recommend doing 4D’s over 28 weeks as babies are generally to big to get very good pictures. There’s always one which will surprise us and sit beautifully but try not to expect to much OP. Unless you have a posterior placenta, a good amount of fluid around babies face and the baby is laying on its back with hands and feet down out of the way, you may not get optimum pictures.

Wow lovely clear images. I'm having a 4d scan on Sunday. I will be exactly 34 weeks at the time. I know it is extremely unlikely that we will get good images due to baby being too large but it's not been possible to get a scan earlier due to dh work and scanning place being completely booked. I'm mainly getting it as more of a reassurance tbh as had awful midwife care this time around. I had one at 28 weeks with DD but she was so tiny and skinny they told me to come back two weeks later, same thing happened with Ds when we went for scan at 30 weeks. Just hoping this one is tiny as well

Good luck @stormelf I was genuinely expecting them to look rubbish and was pleasantly surprised - it did say on the scan page to drink lots of fluid in preparation which I did end up doing, and just before I went in I had a bottle of orange juice. Absolutely no idea if it helped - but they did say if they couldn't get clear shots they would either make me walk around or rebook for another day. Let me know how they turn out Smile
