Best Baby Monitor?

Any recommendations? I guess I am interested in hearing the baby breathe and also maybe in alerts for if something is covering the baby's face/the baby is face down. But all the reviews on Amazon say connectivity is an issue for those latter ones. What do you guys reckon?

Nothing should ever ever be in the cot that could cover baby’s face. Baby should always be placed to sleep on their back but it’s fine for them to sleep on their front if they roll themselves over. But if you do want a breathing monitoring then the Owlet is good. I liked the reassurance with a young baby and we did get the odd couldn’t get a reading error (when the sock wasn’t on properly) but we never had a red alert.

We have the BT6000 for dd and have never had any issues.
It's a sound and video monitor, but the picture is really clear and sound quality has been great. It also has lullabies to play through it, although we've never used them.

As PP says, there should be nothing in the cot with your child that would cover their face and once they learn to roll, it's fine. In fact, the first night dd went into her cot, she decided she was a face down, lying on her front sleeper (like DH 🙄) and I was so anxious, I kept turning the monitor on to check I could see her breathing! She's now 22 months and always sleeps like that!

I decided against a movement monitor because I had read a few reviews where people had got false alerts so I was also worried that the opposite might occur, and I didn't need more anxiety than I already had!
