Although on holiday early January, we will be back in the middle of the month and I will be 18 weeks pregnant. I know the sales will be on then. Would you buy anything (won't buy for the sake of it - only if we really like) or would you say it's too early?

i don't think that would be too early, especially if you're gonna hit the sales. I had a horrendous first 16 weeks and we rewarded ourselves by going out and buying all the nice things. I'm not 39+5 and so prepared and I think it's got a lot to do with being organised and prepared for sometime x

I had got my pushchair by the time i was 20 weeks and had finished the nursery by the time i was 27 weeks. Im so glad i did as i am nearly 36 weeks now and there is no way i good be trailing the shops and putting together furniture!!!!!!!

Im 30w and only just started buying. Even now all ive bought is 4 x bottles (because they were on sale and bedroom furniture (not the cot tought).

In my case ive been too paranoid. Had a EP and MMC in the space of 5 months.

If i hadnt of already suffered these loses i would have been buying from about 12w . My sis went out and bought her pram straight after her 12w scan .

I'm nearly 38 weeks and only just ordered the stuff :D Nursery should be finished by the weekend .

You can get it all as early as you like, but the longer you leave it, the more chance you have of getting a good deal, and/or hand-me-downs.

I bought lots of baby clothes at 2o weeks, now iam 29 weeks and i cant be bothered to look at anything, iam just so uncomfortable, my whole body aches, my fear is that iam an expat, have moved into a new area dh is an only child so no help, dh has relatives who sup only at christmas together, i have refused to let my family fly in to help, as they will take over, my advice is do it whilst you have the energy.
I only have a swinging crib no mattress.

OP I'd definitely get things you will need in the sales - am pg with number 2 at the moment and finding out sex (hopefully) just before christmas - will be shopping for new baby things in the sales for things we will need.

Yep...sounds like a plan.
I discovered i was pregnant at the end of jan 2006, and there were lots of sales on, so, early on as i was, i just went for it.
saved a small fortune!
Have fun! It's really quite exciting getting it all together, and it sounds like trimester-wise, you've got the easiest deal (as it were).
