Hi! I received my letter back from DWP confirming the amount I’ll be receiving in maternity pay & an envelope to send off once I’ve finished work. I sent this off last week but was just wondering what the general response time looked for anyone else :)

Sorry I don't have an answer as I am in the same position. Sent mine off two weeks ago. No money received yet or further communication from them.

Ah no! Did you opt in for being paid fortnightly or monthly? I think i might give them a ring next week to check up.

I asked for monthly as it would be similar to getting my salary each month but my confirmation letter didn't say when in the month I'd be paid or anything!

QueenAdreena · 06/11/2021 21:27

Mine recently took 12 weeks for the DWP to sort out.

QueenAdreena · 06/11/2021 21:28

That was from my initial application to first payment.

After sending the slip back I think I got my first payment about 3/4 weeks later

Oh no, what a faff for you! Did you end up with payments late and backdated?
QueenAdreena · 07/11/2021 19:23

@FrancesFlute yes I did! We were so stretched for weeks having to live on just my husbands income that when the backdated lump sum came through I could have cried! Baby was born premature so I ended up finishing work much much earlier than anticipated and then having the DWP take that long to sort it meant that we had 9 weeks where I had no income whatsoever.

Updating! I rang today - my letter hadn’t arrived with them yet but they sorted over the phone & it’s being processed! If anyone has issues I recommend ringing them!

I posted my slip confirming id stopped working last week, didnt know whether id hear back or just be paid? Baby is coming on the 22nd and my wage would of been paid on the 15th which is when I stated id like maternity allowance to be paid.. maybe not looking likely then? Will ring them next week if I dont hear anything/recieve payment

Decembermum92021 · 10/11/2021 18:13

I posted mine on the 31st, so just over a week ago. If you’re concerned about getting it on time defo give them a ring, it took 2 minutes for her to sort over the phone, was so simple & put my mind at ease!

The lady said if the letter had been recieved I would’ve heard something from them, but I think they might be working through a lot atm.

Thanks, good idea! I sent my slip off 2 weeks ago when I finished work and haven't had anything so I'll try ringing tomorrow if it'll get it sorted!
