When did you have your third section?

I had my 3rd c section at 39+4.

I think 38 might be days long past as that was when I was born.

They usually wait until 39wk+ for singletons if there are no complications to allow the lungs to mature.

I had our twins via elcs at 38wk, they gave me 2 steroid injections prior to surgery to help their lungs.

Ok great I was wondering why bother taking them out so early!

I had my second and third at 38+2 (no GD in either pregnancy), then my fourth was at 37+4 but that was due to being on a high amount of insulin for GD.

I work in theatres. It’s always 39 weeks unless there’s a medical reason why it needs to be earlier. Twins etc. It doesn’t matter whether it’s c section number one or number 5 ☺️ Evidence suggests that the percentage of babies that require a stay in special care is much less after 39 weeks which is why the wait if they can x

This baby should be fine too
I did have BH for months from about 20 weeks but they never amounted to anything

On the day I had my planned section I was actually in labour

Don't want a baby in special care if it can be avoided

My third section was booked for 39 weeks but I went into labour the week before so that meant I had it at 38. The surgeon told me just after it that if I had a fourth I'd need to book the section for earlier than 39 weeks as apparently my womb was so stretched it was transparent. I wasn't really with it enough at the time but I do remember thinking are you fucking crazy I am not having a fourth
