Are these Braxton Hicks?

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and for the last 24hrs or so have been getting cramps across my belly. I'm under no illusion that this is labour! - But wondered if this is what BHs feel like? This is my first pregnancy so I've no idea!

The only way I can describe it is... it's like when you get cramps in your stomach and bowels when you feel like you might be heading for a bad toilet trip (sorry!) but instead of it being deep inside, it's closer to the surface of my bump, and seems to last only a few seconds, then goes away. I don't actually have loose bowels or constipation, anything like that. And it doesn't feel like wind because it isn't deep enough. Any thoughts?

Sounds like it could be. If you put your hand over the bottom of your bump, you can usually feel your uterus tightening up and becoming hard. As long as it's not painful, you're good!

Thanks @BelieveInRainbows
That tightening sounds familiar - I usually get it when I run or if I'm walking up hill. I don't feel the same tightening with this sensation. The crampy feeling is higher up - across my belly button and around the sides. Maybe it's just my belly stretching even more.
