Perioral Dermatitis in Pregnancy

Hi all,
I am currently 28 weeks pregnant. I have had perioral dermatitis since the very start of the pregnancy. It's not very bad to be honest but it is there. I have been to a dermatologist who I trust very much and she has told me there is nothing she can give me to treat it while I am pregnant.
My worry is that such prolonged inflammation in my system will harm the baby.
Did anybody else suffer from this throughout pregnancy and how did everything work out for you?
The worry is really spoiling the pregnancy and I can't find advice from real people, only scary studies done online that link inflammation in pregnancy to severe autism in children. Real stories might help put my mind at ease.
Thank you

Hi there! I am also suffering from Perioral D during pregnancy. I have found a solution that works for me after many different creams lotions and potions… I use these

  1. Bepanthen nappy cream!!!!
  2. Lyonsleaf Zinc & Calendula Cream
i have been alternating between these two throughout the day, applying each one on around twice a day. I wash face morning and evening gently with dove antibacterial bar of soap.

hope it helps you too! X

Hey I'm currently pregnant and still using topical metronidazole for my POD. I was told this was safe to use during pregnancy by my GP. I'm only using it every other day now as it's calmed right down.
