39+2 - clear mucus plug?

As above, I'm 39+2 (1st baby) and have tried to keep active-ish in the hope of getting things going.

I've just been for a wee and noticed a considerable amount of clear discharge, a quick google suggests that a mucus plug can appear clear - would anyone know of this is common/likely? I can't say I've had anything similar to this point previously.

I will note that my parter and I did have sex last night but I've obviously washed and showered this morning since so I doubt it could be leftover... you know... but excuse my naivety please!

In my experience the mucus plug is more likely to be more of a dark yellowly colour and is difficult to mistake due to its colour and quantity.

To me it sounds like it’s more likely to be sex related. But to be honest, even if it were to be your mucus plug (without any other signs of immensely labour) it could still be weeks before you go into labour.

With my second, my mucus plug went in one huge lump at 39 weeks but I didn’t go into labour until 40+3.

The best of luck!

Oooh exciting times ahead for you!

My mucous plug was very clearly greenish/yellowish with a bit of blood. You will know it when you see it, i think.

Like PP i lost my plug but nothing happened for a good few days afterwards.

Best of luck.

There's quite a difference from the plug to discharge.

Have you googled pictures of a mucus plug? I can guarantee it’ll be the first time anything like that has come out of your vagina. There really was no mistaking it for me!

Thanks guys, I think I might have a bit to go yet... just had in my had for a couple of different reasons that the 5th (today) would be the day but I'm feeling a whole lot of nothing right now!

Mine was definitely clear and very very glue-like. It was my first day of maternity leave and at the time I read the plug can come away anything from hours to days before labour, so I wasn't too worried, but my contractions started that afternoon. I was 10 days early and my waters never broke, so I don't know if that might affect why I didn't have any colour/discharge?

TMI but mine were more like snot tbh. With a little bit of blood in my second.

First one came away in one lump and I went into labour that evening. Second one in bits and it was 10 days from the first bit for labour to start.
