@HWka Mayo is fine as long as they use pasteurised eggs which most companies in the U.K. do. Also important to get British lion eggs if you are making it yourself.

Hi, just wondering what everyone is doing regarding covid? I'm double vaxed and work have given us the flexibility to work from home or office. But I think they are soon going to "encourage" everyone to go back to the office a few days a week. Is being pregnant a good excuse to continue working from home? Is covid worse if you are pregnant even if you are double vaxed?

I don't particularly want to go back to the office for many reasons but I don't want to be that person who blames everything on being pregnant IYSWIM.

Pandamama88 · 08/11/2021 17:55

Being pregnant is totally a good excuse! I think as a precaution being pregnant is seen as a risk factor by the NHS. I wouldn't think twice about mentioning it in the hopes of continuing to work from home.

HopefulJ2018 · 08/11/2021 18:09

@czycoup my midwife said to me to be cautious in regards large gatherings due to the rising covid cases and with it being flu season I’m double jabbed for covid but not had my flu jab yet. My work have a company wide conference coming up but my midwife said don’t go.
I think it’s because of the limited medication that can be given to pregnant women.
I’m pretty much hibernating but struggling with severe pregnancy sickness so it’s more about that for me.

I would definitely try to WFH. I work in the nhs with Covid patients and having an absolute nightmare trying to fight my corner to work with non Covid patients only!!

🤞🏼

Thanks everyone. My work are pretty understanding so I'm not expecting a fight about working from home.

MrsNT · 08/11/2021 19:28

@czycoup my colleague was told to work from home indefinately when she told work place about preg. However this was during the first wave and others were still going in. Im sure they would do same now

beansprout55 · 08/11/2021 20:06

Is anyone going to have their booster? I was offered one a couple months back (I work in dentistry) but i didn't feel too rushed to get it - I'm now I'm 7 weeks and wondering if I should or not?! Little bit anxious if I'm honest, I know we're being told it's OK but obviously that paranoid niggle that comes with being pregnant has got the better of me and my rational mind! xx

unknownscot · 08/11/2021 20:28

@beansprout55
Yes I'll have mine, although a colleague of mine got told she couldn't have hers until 12 weeks pregnant
I hadn't heard that.

Imhereforthecake · 08/11/2021 20:34

@beansprout55 I had mine before I found out I was pregnant at the same time as the flu

TTCjourney2021 · 08/11/2021 20:48

I won't be having it I don't think x

Vimto1991 · 08/11/2021 21:09

I had both Pfizer jabs and they really messed up my menstrual cycle. I may decline the booster and hopefully not regret it. I had the flu jab last week, only had two days of achey arm and headache!
Just went to do the dishes and wretched twice. DH is going to start believing I am faking it to get out of housework I swear. 🙈 it’s all the smells and food on plates!

I'm getting my booster in a few weeks time. I'll take minor side effects over getting hospitalised with Covid any day.

DaimDillyDoo · 08/11/2021 23:07

Hey Smile been away for a couple of weeks after being hospitalised due to HG. I'm 10+1 now and seem to have to under control slightly better.

Also had my booking appointment.

Hope everyone is well Thanks

PeeAche · 09/11/2021 09:24

Hey @DaimDillyDoo gosh that sucks. How long were you in for? I have been diagnosed with HG too and it's awful. I think I might be the thinnest I've been in about 4 years though.

I'm opting to not have a Covid booster at this point. I had my first jab before I knew I was pregnant last time and miscarried a few days later. This doesn't mean there's a link but my own anxiety can only handle so much. I'm not an anti vaxxer and I believe my choice isn't putting me or anyone else at any higher risk as I actually had Covid in August (after 2 jabs) so I think my antibodies are probably still fairly high.

I'm still working partly from home and partly from the office. I plan on telling them about my pregnancy in January and then I might request home working only.

unknownscot · 09/11/2021 10:37

I'm 7+6 and symptoms come and go all the time, is anyone else the same?
I have a scan on Thursday and getting quite anxious about it now x

MrsNT · 09/11/2021 13:12

@unknownscot. Yes me.. i get tummy aches and cramps some days and none some days. It does make me anxious

Ladies who have had their booking in and blood test appt..what were your haemoglobin amd red blood cells level? Mine were border line under.. like the haemoglobin was 113 whereas it starts from 115 upto cant remember upper limit
Midwife said its normal at this stage. Im not convinced

MrsNT · 09/11/2021 13:16

Should i raise it with GP?

Clomid1 · 09/11/2021 15:54

@MrsNT personally I think when anxious its always good to just speak to a medical professional. The midwife is also medically trained so probably all good but if you’re anxious worth giving them a call just to feel a bit better about the issue because otherwise you’ll just stress and thats not good for you or baby

When did you get the results from the booking appointment?

MrsNT · 09/11/2021 15:58

@clomid1 Results were on the patient portal of the hospital website..so saw it late last week. Got results on the system about 2 days after test

Clomid1 · 09/11/2021 16:03

@MrsNT that’s really cool. I didn’t get any information about that so assuming my trust don’t do it?

blueberryy · 09/11/2021 16:24

Any tips on managing constant stomach churning? It's been three weeks now and the acid is just intense. Lots of burps and bloated belly and just feeling absolutely miserable. If no tips - anyone who had these symptoms but have come out the other side? I'm in my 8th week and cannot handle this for too much longer.

pregnancydiaries · 09/11/2021 16:28

@blueberryy dry crackers! It’s all I manage when my stomach is churning away. Also living on “Deflatine” for trapped wind x

Ladies...had a scan today and the sonographer pressed sooo hard on my belly I’m so paranoid now that it’s hurt the wee bub? Everything looked ok but now I’m so sore from it..,Please reassure me 😂 xx
