When do baby movements settle down?

Hi all

Gah! I hate that two weeks ago I was all like 'yay, a kick!' and now I?m 'WHY hasn?t it moved in the last two hours? WHY??'

Anyway, I'm 25 weeks and the LO's movements seem to be fluctuating quite a lot ? I had three days with only a few tremors then quite a lot yesterday and a few less today. I've read that the movements settle down a bit around now and am a bit worried that the LO is slowing down instead. Did it take anyone else a while to get into a routine?

Do you think I should I start counting kicks or is it a bit early? In the bub's quiet days, I don't think I got ten kicks during the day.

(My placenta was in the normal place on my scan BTW.)

Stressful isn't it!

I don't think either of mine ever 'settled down' (other than always kicking when I wanted to go to sleep )

I would think that if you've only been feeling things for the last 2 weeks, its most likely that you're only feeling some of the movements so far - hence it sometimes feels like more movement, sometimes less. Also, remember if baby is kicking towards your back, you probably won't feel it atm.

Has everything else been fine ? All OK on scans/heartbeat etc? I'm sure everything is FINE, but bumping for the experts!

If you feel you have too long a quiet period, dry a cold drink & a lie down - brings on the kicks

My baby sounds very similar. We have a few quiet days when, although there is movement, its not massive ones, and then I get a day or 2 when he doesn't keep still! It's just his little pattern I think. Midwife says its all ok, and if I'm worried she's told me to sit somewheere nice and quiet and have an ice cold drink of water. That soon wakes him up, and then I think ' enough now, little man... quieten down in there!' Lol

It IS stressful! I think it might partly be third trim hormonal worries kicking in tho.

I haven't been to the midwife in a while but am going next week. It's all been ok so far but I was tempted to give her a call a few days back if bub didn't perk up a little.

I am trying to see if there is a pattern mum2b and for a while it did seem as if bub was settling down. I suppose the quiet days are part of the routine, as you say.
