39 weeks, period pains

Hi all
I am 39+1 and for the last two days have had mild period pains. They will be sporadic through the day, might be hours between. I get shooting pains in my cervix but Google tells me that's nerve pains from baby moving.
I also feel heavy, like my period could start.
Is this likely to be a sign of something happening, or am I reading too much into things?x

It could be but equally could be late pregnancy discomfort. I had period pains but also had the show from first thing in morning and period pains were roughly 15 mins apart though then 11pm went into Labour ie proper contractions started.

Both my labours felt like short bursts of a sensation that was like a combination of period pains and trapped wind. They started off irregularly and pretty mild, and then developed a regular rhythm, gradually becoming closer together and more intense until I was in full labour.
