Appointment at 40+2

Bit of background, I'm currently 39+1 and due to my assignment midwife moving a couple of months ago I've not seen the same person consistently since then so haven't had much of a personal experience/not too comfortable asking questions/not sure of my options/no birth plan etc.

After a pretty routine urine/heartbeat/blood pressure check last week my next appointment is next week which will be 40+2 if baby hasn't arrived.

Could anyone let me know what me options should be at this point? I want to be able to know where I stand as nothing has really been explained. My pregnancy has been thankfully healthy but I'm really keen to get things moving if I can and want to know about sweeps/induction etc.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

At mine (was at my actual due date so 40+0) I was offered a sweep and given info about induction to read - didn’t get booked in for anything but they arranged to see me the following week when I’d be 41+0 to make a decision. As it was I accepted the sweep despite having a really low Bishop’s score, early labour kicked off 36 hours later and I had DD at 40+4!

Thank you, just feel like I've slipped under the radar completely 🙈, don't feel very confident as last week I saw a student and her supervisor (if that's the correct term) that didn't say very much and nothing was mentioned about what would happen next time or if they could do a sweep.
I know I should have asked but I was in a bit of flap as she asked me to pop to the hospital for monitoring as my blood pressure was high - it wasn't when I got there I was absolutely fine.

Same as @Dollywilde I was offered a sweep and given info about induction. I then went back at around 41 weeks for a postdates appointment I think it was called & was monitored on ctg machine & had another sweep. That's when my induction date was booked :)

@glow92 I feel like I'm in a similar boat! I'm 37+5 today and still haven't spoke about birth plan, my next appointment is at 39 weeks and feeling really unsure and uncomfortable - don't feel in control about labour at all. My last appointment my blood pressure was high too so I ended up getting distracted and like you said, I was in a bit of a flap and when I went to hospital it was fine too!! I have no idea about sweeps or inductions or what to expect when I get to hospital in labour etc. Also not sure if it's like this for everyone? Or if I've just been left to my own devices. I feel like it's my fault as I should be more outspoken about it but I always feel so nervous and don't know if I'm just being over anxious!
