Changing bags

I'm looking for recommendations for changing bags. I was set on the skip hop forma which I loved the look of but it seems it's not available any more.
Looking for something that opens wide so you can easily see what's in it and has lots of pockets. Ideally a backpack style. Nothing brightly coloured or very patterned. Looking to spend no more than £75.

Bambino Mio Baby and Beyond would be my choice if you want a changing bag specifically. I just bought their grab and go wallet and use my
pre baby backpack.

Cuwins · 02/11/2021 20:01

Yes ideally want a specific bag. My current back pack is about 15 years old and desperately needs replacing anyway.

Try Amazon lots on there I have 2. A navy blue and gold rucksack with a lot of compartments charging port space for 4 bottle wet wipe dispenser really handy. Also a buggy bag which is grey and more like a cooler bag. Only a few compartments but opens wide and attaches on to the buggy really easily so we use this for short trips/walks. Both were around £20 but very strong and sturdy. Made well

Mysleepingangel · 03/11/2021 06:33

I bought a Gigil when it had 20% off which came at a good price.
Yet to use it, but it is very sturdy and a backpack style with lots of space.

X

I don't suppose you know what brand they are? Problem with Amazon is they can be so hit or miss if you don't know exactly what your looking for.

We have a Dikaslon grey backpack I got from Amazon. Wasn't too expensive and it's been great so far.

T0rt0ise · 03/11/2021 13:08

Not sure if they still do them but I have one from Anorak which is a good size (can fit a few cloth nappies, change of clothes, wipes, snacks, water bottle).

purplepoppet92 · 03/11/2021 13:26

I was gifted a gigil backpack and they are gorgous 😍 they are bigger than you would expect and feel a bit like an expanding bag - just when you think you've run out of space you find more 🤣🤣

Crazybabylady14 · 03/11/2021 13:36

I've got a Babbleroo - big compartments, insulated pockets for bottles and loads of other pockets to keep everything separate. It's a back pack style but has clips for attaching to pram handles as well. Was about £30 from Amazon, chose it because it scores almost 5/5 for style, size, cost etc on about 6000 reviews.

I’ve got myself a Pacapod, as I loved that it has smaller ‘pod’ bags which can then be used separately and help keep everything separate for when I need it. They sell ‘seconds’ on eBay - I got one which has a tiny tiny scratch for a third of the rrp.

I loved that it looks like a nice bag, but is still super functional!

Have a look in the charity shops. If you see one you like, get it when you see it - apparently they go quickly. Grin

🤣 particularly if there's a well placed MIL standing in the way....

Got a proper baby bag for 1st ds from Amazon and it was shite, best thing I did was get a vans backpack, loads of different sections, 3 big sections with mesh pockets inside, two front pockets, side pocket to hold a ur water bottle / toddlers bottle. Just have to buy a changing mat and a wee insulated bag ( if formula feeding)
It's still going strong now with ds no2

Marmite27 · 03/11/2021 21:10

I had a pacapod for DC1 and hated it by the end.

I had a jujube right back backpack with DC2 which is still going strong as my weekend with the kids back and DC2 is now nearly 4.5.

cafedesreves · 03/11/2021 21:18

I would highly recommend the Babymel Robin. I got mine off eBay and it's great

cafedesreves · 03/11/2021 21:19

Sorry Robyn

You can get a new Skip Hop Forma on ebay if it’s the bag you’re really after!

They have a bag on Amazon that is around £40 and looks like a copy of the skiphop forma , I ordered it and it did look quite nice and opening to bag was wide , I only returned because I had really wanted the tiba and marl backpack and decided to go for it when I had already made the other order.

I had a babymel bag that went over one shoulder... Big mistake! Definitely go for a backpack.
I've been using a fjallraven kanken backpack, I recently got treated to a new navy one with leather handles. The 2 side pockets fit Mam bottles and the laptop compartment at the back fits nappies, wipes and a mat.
I believe you can get a larger size also which I may need when I have baby no 2

I have a Mia Tui Jennie which I love. The Sydney is a backpack style

Thank you for this recommendation - I looked at it and ordered, it arrived yesterday - looks fantastic!

Appleseesaw · 05/11/2021 08:55

I ended up with a backpack from accessorise. I tried a couple of other changing backpacks and didn’t get on with them so well. One I bought from amazon, and I’ve seen many people wearing it- it has tons and tons of pockets, but I could never find anything.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. The babbleroo looks fab. Think I will go for that.
