Hi all,

I am currently just over 17 weeks and have unfortunately had COVID for the last two weeks, the joys of being a primary school teacher when everything is spreading! I luckily wasn’t very poorly with COVID, I have been double jabbed so did wonder if this helped. However, I’m really struggling with long term fatigue, to the point I’ve gone back to work and I’m finding it extremely difficult to make it through a day and am sleeping all evening. I also keep getting headaches which I’m presuming is just because I’m so exhausted. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so tired before and feel like I’m feeling way worse than I even did in my first trimester which is so frustrating when I was finally starting to feel a bit more upbeat. I’ve also weirdly had my morning sickness return since having COVID. I wondered if anyone else has had COVID after being double jabbed and pregnant and would be able to share their experience or even just offer some sympathy.

My boss has been really lovely about it and has offered to go over my risk assessment again and to look at what can be put in place to help. I’m really struggling with any suggestions though as I just feel like no matter what I do I feel extremely exhausted.

Thanks in advance for any answers 😊

It took me a good few weeks to recover properly after having covid at 28 weeks. 36+6 now and I'm back to normal now and baby is doing great but my hg was a nightmare, also tiredness and general feelings of unwell went on for weeks after I finished isolation.
Is it possible for you to take a bit more time off?

Hi op,
I had covid at 25 weeks and was quite poorly with it. It lasted a good 3/4 weeks and the tiredness was awful. I wasn't back at work and was struggling so it must be so hard being at work for you. I can only imagine how exhausted you are. I also found at the end of having it I had a lot of nausea. I wasn't sick very often in my first trimester but this sickness was very similar to that after I had covid. It didn't last for long.
I would definitely see if it's doable to have a week or so off just to get back to normal and rest. I know your job as a teacher is important but so is the health of you and baby. Thanks
