Hi,

My partner and I had unprotected sex on 23rd October, I took the morning after pill the following day.

I'm currently on cycle day 23, and have taken a pregnancy test but I'm unsure of the result is a true positive or if I'm seeing things.

Can I have any advice or opinions please? My cycles are irregular, I believe my period is due any time between the 6th and 9th of November.

Thank you

I've tried to find where to add a photo but I can't see how.

I would say that if you ovulated at 12 days that would be 22nd and if the was the case and you had unprotected sex on the 23rd and then took morning after pill it wouldn’t of worked as it doesn’t work once you’ve ovulated. I was exactly the same and am not 8w5d while writing this. Hope your as happy as me that it hasn’t worked 😘😘

Hi @Flowerbug1994, that's my worry about the timing. I use an app which suggested my ovulation day was either the 23rd or 24th October (can't be 100% sure as my cycles range from 24 to 33 days).

I did a test this afternoon which looked very very faint after 3 mins, then got darker and thinner after around 10 mins which I know can be evap.

I'm going to retest tomorrow before I say for sure that it's positive I think.

How did you feel after? Are you with a partner?

Am not with babies dad no but am not bothered about that in the slightest… I’ll be honest when I read about morning after not working after I took it I thought there was a chance that I could be. By about 8 days after it I felt different like I just knew. I done the test a day or 2 after my missed period it was a clear blue digital and it come up pregnant straight away.. I’ll be honest I absolutely shit myself in that moment 😂😂 but I will be 28 I’ve got a good job I’ve for a very supportive family so I know we will be just fine. I had to be scanned at 5+5 and 7+5 as I had some pain and all was good seeing that little heartbeat on the second scan made me realise it was really what I wanted.
How are you feeling ? What’s your sitch ?

@Flowerbug1994 I'm glad you're happy about it all and in a good position! A happy surprise for you after all 💖

I've been with my partner for 11 months but we live an hour away from each other at the moment. I was exactly the same, I felt different this time to the other times I've taken it. I usually start bleeding around 6 days after MAP but when I didn't this time alarm bells started ringing.

I haven't told my partner yet about the test, I want to wait until I'm 100% sure before breaking the news. I did warn him on the night of his "accident" that the MAP may not work due to dates though.

I don't know what we will do if it's positive. We're both 31, and I have a 12 year old son already.

Just give yourself time to think about it you’ve found out really early by the looks of things could you take a first response test there usually pretty accurate early

LeahPaige · 02/11/2021 19:18

@Flowerbug1994 I have a first response test, and a clear blue extra early digital too.

I think I'll try the first response tomorrow then the clear blue digital on Thursday and see what happens.

Morning, I've done both tests this morning and they're both positive. It was very humbling seeing the words "pregnant" appear on the digital test. I can't believe it in all honesty I was hoping yesterdays test was a false alarm.
