how soon after c section did you get pregnant?

just wondering really! had mine 13 weeks ago, and not sure when its safe to get pregnant again. dont want to wait too ong though

you should allow a year or so , but there are a fair few mumsnetters who got pregnant sooner

also, a good idea to let your body recover from pregnancy, the birth and looking after a new born

i waited 6 years BTW !

i've has 2 cs. was told to wait at least at year each time.. longer preferably

i had other reasons, nothing to do with c.s ,sorry .

There is 1 yr and 11 months between my two dds, which suggests that I must have been pregnant about 14 months after my c.s.

i guessthe concern is that you heal properly before at all gets stetched again. cs is deep surgery, really important to heal fully. can cause complications if pregnant agin too quickly. i couldnt even consider getting pregnant again at 13 weeks post section! you must be keen!

i dont want another baby straight awa y really. its just that when im told i cant i want to do something more!! i would like another in the next year or so though. i wanted a small age gap.

TBH i found the actual c section and after fine though! was out of hosp in 2 days, and out and about quite soon after!

My GP told me at my 6 week postnatal check that I couldn start trying straight away! He said the body heals very quickly and it is more a case of the mind needing to be ready rather than the body.

both my sections were great. with the second i was out the following day. i'm 13 months on, and would happily consider pregnancy again now. only recently have i felt i've got back to normal though. enojoy baby number one first....
