TW - Any positive experiences after bleeding at 6 weeks?

I started bleeding this afternoon, less than a period but a decent enough amount on toilet paper, and some abdominal cramping. Red fresh blood.

I called my OB and she said that's normal but I'm freaking out after a prior MC, and she didn't want to see me. I'm in the US so no EPU, and as a Friday the Emergency Room would be my only option but I'm not bleeding heavily enough to need it.

Was just looking for some positive stories of this happening and you and baby being ok?

5+5 and anxious too. Got loads of light brown/pink/yellow cervical mucus this evening. Been crying ever since!
Want to follow for positive stories

I was 6 weeks with my last pregnancy and bled period like for 3 days, GP also told me it was normal.
I'd had previous miscarriages as well as 4 successful pregnancies so didn't really know what to expect at the 12 week scan.
DD is 2 now so don't give up hope!

@HannahsLife how are you?

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 01/11/2021 14:04

Yes happened to me, started bleeding at about 5 weeks, bled on and off up to 20 weeks. Had previously had a miscarriage too.

DD is now a healthy adultSmile

DoctorBambino · 01/11/2021 15:22

Yes I had a heavy bleed at 8 weeks for 3 days and then continued with brown spotting all the way until 12 weeks. No cramping. Now 27 weeks. Hope all goes well for you 🙏

I'm doing ok. The bleeding has mostly stopped, maybe a little spotting. I don't see my OB for another couple of weeks though.

How are you?

Thank you all for the support. Glad your babies are doing well!

Just wanted to check in to see how you're doing - my spotting is on it's 6th day, loads today. Cramps too. This afternoon I saw professor McVeigh, one of the best fertility specialists in the Uk - he told me I was fine. Saw babies heart beat too (I'm 6 weeks today). He said 1/3 women bleed. He could actually see the bleed on the ultrasound too - he said it's my placenta forming and attaching, and I'll probably bleed more, but it's fine! 😊 so.... you'll be ok xx SO reassured by a consultant telling me those words rather than Google, I wanted you to know!

Dark spotting from 6 weeks then I had very heavy bleed at 13 weeks, then spotting and light bleeding on and off until 20 weeks.
DS is now 17 and 6’3”.
I suspect he was a twin pregnancy, and the non surviving twin was a chemical pregnancy. We have a history of paternal twins on my mums side of the family. When I was having ovulation scans during fertility treatment I frequently had two follicles the same size so often released two eggs at a time during natural cycles. May have been the reason I miscarried so many times.
I had nausea early on that then stopped around 6 weeks only to return at 10weeks.

IndigoJam · 01/11/2021 18:08

I was bleeding early. Turned out to be twins.

I bled 10 times with my first and at week 9 there was a blood clot in the uterus 3 times the size of the baby, then week 12 I bled so much needed to throw PJ bottoms out as totally soaked in blood but she made it to 37 weeks and now 16. I was a nervous wreck by the end esp as she was ivf but we got there. Good luck to anyone going through the same. I also bled with second for first trimester, thought was having periods then discovered I was pregnant and 11 weeks.

Interesting he was so reassuring about it - I'm 5+5 and a&e Doctor saw the bleeding too but they gave no reassurance just said they won't know if it's a miscarriage until a few days have passed.

Did he advise on what we can do to make it better? I'm worried that sex might be bad for uterus and wonder if we should abstain for now. X

Shannymummy420 · 03/11/2021 01:35

So yes. TW: I had a literal MC and still able to maintain a viable twin. I had heavy bleeding at around 7/8 weeks and was passing large clots and went to AE to see that my baby was still put. I had spotting pretty regularly during my period so I wouldn’t freak out too much. Just keep an eye on it. Hope this gives some reassurance ❤️

floofycroissant · 07/11/2021 18:28

6 weeks here too and my spotting has progressed to bleeding since Thursday. Feels like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster. This thread is really reassuring but it's hard not to think the worst.

beansprout55 · 07/11/2021 18:45

@laurenGame - he wasn't really fussed by it. I have been put on progesterone supps though as that dropped from 49 to 39 (no idea why but he also wasn't concerned) as it's still plenty high.

I had brown cm yesterday too, which would be 10 days after the spotting started. x

If your spotting every turns to bleeding - bright red - go and get it checked deffo! But I wouldn't bother with brown or pink spotting x

beansprout55 · 07/11/2021 18:46

@floofycroissant are you bleeding much? The dr told me mine might even turn red and not to panic it was fine. Have you got a scan or have you seen anyone?x

floofycroissant · 07/11/2021 19:03

I called 111 and got referred to the out of hours Dr. I'm now getting small clots, bright red when I wipe and visible in my underwear. I was told to ring back on Monday if it gets worse, bit I'm not sure there's anything they can do. If its happening, they can't stop it and I was also told 6 weeks is too early to see anything on a scan.

beansprout55 · 10/11/2021 08:50

What happened @floofycroissant ?

Any more encouraging bleeding stories? I'm 14 days of spotting going strong 😕

OkyDoke · 10/11/2021 08:52

I had bleeding on and off for months due to placenta previa - it moved in the end! I had a polyp too which was cauterised through a colposcopy at about 20 weeks pregnant as well. All good, DD is 8 months, just lots of trips to hospital for Anti D for me!

beansprout55 · 10/11/2021 09:02

When did that start? I'm 7+2 and the brown ive had for weeks has turned pink.
Saw heartbeat 10 days ago

beansprout55 · 10/11/2021 09:04

@HannahsLife how were things?

floofycroissant · 10/11/2021 10:05

Doesn't look like it'll be positive for me Beansprout I have a scan tomorrow. Sad
