two days in a row i've woken up and as i've gone to go for a wee in the morning a warm trickle/small gush has come out and trickled down my legs and over the floor. i have then continued to go for a wee. it was clear and didn't feel like it was wee like it did come from my vagina. thing is i haven't had any leaking during the day either on pads etc so it's making me feel like it's just discharge? Hmm

Call your maternity ward and ask to be checked. They can swab you, or if you can catch the liquid in a pad so they can test that.

It's possible you have a leak at the top of the sack so are only leaking when you stand up after lying down for a period.

I had this and my waters had gone. I got told by midwives on the phone it was nothing but then after a few days went in to get checked and it was my waters! Definitely worth being checked!

For me it was clear and slightly thicker than water, so definitely not wee. Don’t leave it as long as I did before getting checked though. Good luck!

@Bancha that's how mine was! did you not have any other leaking apart from that time? bit disappointing that i haven't had any more Sad

Not really! TMI - my underwear felt ‘wetter’ than normal, but it wasn’t properly leaking. I lost my mucas plug before it started, also. I had to have an induction as it had been a few days and I hadn’t gone into labour.

Couldhavebeenme3 · 29/10/2021 13:45

The whole fore and hind waters thing bugs me - it's the same sac, not two separate, defining bodies of liquid.

I was 'dribbling' for two days, called the hospital who called me in, and I then wasn't discharged until baby was born (infection risk due to ruptured membrane)

Butterflyy20 · 29/10/2021 13:57

@Couldhavebeenme3 she didnt swab me or check for amniotic fluid she just looked and gave me a sweep and told me my waters were still in tact! getting induced tomorrow tho!Smile

Like @couldhavebeenme3, i was admitted. My hind waters broke (but with a big gush 😳 Hollywood style) at 38w. Then they continued leaking significantly with big gushes every time i got up. I went through a lot of maternity pads! I went in to get them checked after the first big gush - i was told if contractions didn't begin within 24hrs i would be induced and i was admitted there and then for monitoring whilst i waited. My contractions started 12hrs after my waters broke but unfortunately my baby still got an infection and was in NICU / SCBU with sepsis for two weeks before she was able to come home.

My forewaters were still in place right until the end of labour and had to be broken by the midwife after i was at 9cm for quite a while. They had formed a sort of plug that was stopping baby progressing. I had 20mins of pushing after that and then baby was born! By that point, i didn't even notice if it felt any different.

It felt like a little trickle. Which then stopped. When I went to get checked out, with dd1, they said nothing was 'flowing' so definitely not the main waters. The next day I went into Labour. In contrast, when my actual waters went at home with dd2, it was a massive pop and a gush which kept going and going and just soaking everything including my clothes, the car seat and when I got to the hospital, I just had to sit in the bed with loads of pads underneath me to absorb it all.
