Hi, hoping someone can help put my mind at ease here. I had an electric shock touching a lamp yesterday which blew the electricity in the house. It gave me a real fright and I have a small burn on my finger. Pretty sure I only felt the shock in my arms, and only felt it for a second or two.

I'm 6 weeks 2 days pregnant at the time of the shock. Now a day later I feel fine and all my pregnancy symptoms are still there - gag reflex even more sensitive than yesterday Halloween Shock Phoned the midwife who said it wasn't anything to worry about but to come in for a scan on Monday. That seems like such a long time to wait, especially after losing our first pregnancy at around a similar time at the start of the year. Does anyone have any similar experiences that might help ease the anxiety/fear I am currently experiencing? Crossing my fingers :)

I would highly doubt it could trigger a miscarriage but it’s great they have offered a scan for you . Try not to worry . I hope the scan goes well , you’re still quite early so they may not be able to see a heartbeat yet just keep that in mind xx

My friend received an electric shock when she was about 39 weeks pregnant, she was thrown across the kitchen by the force of it. Both she and baby were absolutely fine. I know you're much earlier on in the pregnancy and I hope it all works out for you
