Growth scan confusion

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on this. I went for a routine growth scan today at 32 weeks, and consultant first looked at the individual measurements and said it looks great, but then said she’s plotted them on my personalised graph and said they translate into growth dropping of a tiny bit so they’ve booked me in for another scan in 2 weeks. How does this look to you? I don’t understand how the measurements translates into such a drop in growth on the personalised chart…wondering if anyone has had anything similar!

They're basing it on your previous babies or bmi. I really wouldn't worry. They told me DD2 would be 8.5lbs and she was 5lbs 13- they're not that scientific but take the extra scan as an opp to see baby again

Ahhh thanks, I just don’t get why the individual measurements show it’s growing along her line, but this translates into the growth chart as dropping in growth 🤷‍♀️. Some strange formula! As you say, another chance to see the baby

It's your babies femur length (FL) that has dropped slightly. It's less than a centile so not a massive worry and it could just be a positional issue with the baby.
At least they are scanning you again to see if it its becoming an issue or not.
For context they estimated my first to be 2lb 5oz a day before he was born weighing 2lb 15oz (big difference) and my second was estimated to be around 6lb+ but was 5lb 3oz (way out again)
Although my babies were both tiny in length and very skinny they seem to be heavy in weight, relatively speaking

Agree with @Mammyofasuperbaby it's the femur measurement that has changed it. Same thing happened to me this week at my 36 week growth scan but in the opposite direction. The femur length shot up which brought everything else up with it.

Thanks guys…I thought that might be it, but at the last scan the femur length had shot up a bit so guess it’s only following it’s original line now. Keep thinking if I hadn’t had the 28 weeks growth scan it wouldn’t have had this worry 🙈.

Growth scans can be very inaccurate so it's good that they are keeping an eye on it but it's likely to be fine. We were told that the femur length is the measurement most likely to be inaccurate and to pay most attention to the head measurement. We had two scans that looked like DC2 wasn't growing properly then several that looked fine. He was 8lb4 when born at 39 weeks.

My growth scan at 28 weeks showed a negative measurement for femur length Shock
I am happy to confirm that dd does in fact have two perfectly normal length legs!
