Thanks

Mine turned at 35w. I think they normally do

iloveicelollies · 28/10/2021 14:13

Yes around 32 weeks

Nyfluff · 28/10/2021 14:15

Yes it's normal for them to move often at this stage. With subsequent babies they can turn until you're term.

jennyt82 · 28/10/2021 14:20

I had a scan at 35 weeks and baby was breech. When I was scanned again a week later he'd turned to head down

WheelieBinPrincess · 28/10/2021 14:22

No, I had a c section at 39 weeks. I refused the manual turning thing, sounded awful with a low success rate. When he came out I was glad because he was in such an odd position there’s no way he’d have been able to turn.

He was still sucking on his toes a week later, but he’s six weeks and right as rain now.

LadyDanburysHat · 28/10/2021 14:23

DS2 was breech my entire pregnancy. He turned at 35 weeks. The midwife didn't quite believe that she was feeling a head as I hand not felt him turn.

Zibidee · 28/10/2021 14:27

My sister's second baby was breach at 36wks. They did the manual turn and she did turn leading to vaginal birth at 39weeks. Her feet turn inwards when she walks which the doctors attributed to being breach, although this has slightly improved now she is 10 after some osteopathy in her early years.

Breechies · 28/10/2021 14:29

Most of them do, so I hear. Mine didn't, despite all the Spinning Babies shenanigans with ironing boards, yoga balls and whathaveyou, I had successful ECV then a long slow failure of a labour ending in a rush to theatre to turn her with forceps, we are both ok but if it happened again I'd sack off the ECV and ask for elective caesarean. Hopefully it won't come to that for you.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 28/10/2021 14:33

Mine turned at about 33wks. I was told by a midwife at my antenatal class to refuse manual turning if it was offered because it's brutal and as I have a slipped disc it could make it worse. She also said that the baby would likely just turn back around anyway.

namechangedyetagain · 28/10/2021 14:40

First, yes at about 37 weeks
Second, no not a chance
Third, no, not enough fluid around her.

Zibidee · 28/10/2021 14:52

My sister said the turn was very uncomfortable but she was set on a home birth which she did achieve as a result.
She was also a midwife.
I guess it comes down to what each midwife has experienced as to what they advise.

Mine was breach from day one but had turned at a 32 week scan however I still feel all movements low and pressure from something solid in my ribs so I’ll be interested to see what she is doing by the time I get to 36 weeks

GiantCheeseMonster · 28/10/2021 20:55

Yes, 26 weeks is very early and most will turn. Still plenty of room for them.

NewlyGranny · 28/10/2021 20:57

Yes. At 36 weeks. And he was a twin, so they were talking C section because it was too late for the breech baby to turn and there was no room.

It was like sumo wrestlers in a sack all night, but he turned!

Vaginal birth. 👍

onemachine · 28/10/2021 21:08

Breach from as soon as you could tell the position. Stayed that way until c section. I knew it because the kicks were always in the same place. Midwife seemed to think he had moved but I disagreed and good job too as I pushed for a position scan and found he was breach still. Glad I didn’t opt for manual turning as he hadn’t turned in so long he had actually grown into the shape of my insides- had a weird flat head on one side from being underneath my ribs. Flattened out after a few weeks.

CherryDocsInYrBalls · 28/10/2021 21:12

Yes my baby turned naturally but still had to have an emergency c section. Try not to worry
