Discharge...what is normal?

Hi,
Not the most glamorous topic in the world but can we talk discharge? My anxiety has hit the roof (again) all because of a little brown discharge whilst wiping. I'm 15 weeks and all scans are fine. What did you experience? I'm concerned this could be a sign of infection as I've been in discomfort with minor cramps today but I've also done alot of walking.

Sorry if this seems a bit disjointed, I'm feeling really upset but rationally I know there isn't alot to be concerned with and I should call my midwife in the morning.

I'm 37 weeks and have had a fair bit of dark yellow/light brown discharge since about 12/13 weeks. It increased even more in the third trimester.

Everything with my pregnancy has been fine (had a 36 wk scan last week). The increased discharge is just an annoyance, as I have to use sanitary pads daily. I think I had similar worries to you when it started but found enough threads with other women complaining about the volume of discharge in pregnancy and that set my mind at ease.

If the pain continues, or you get other symptoms like itching, I would get checked, but I think lots of discharge, by itself, is not that unusual in pregnancy.

I had this too and all was fine. It's just not very pleasant.

Hi everyone, I’m new to this and first time posting.. I’m 11 weeks pregnant and 2 days ago I had some very light pink discharge happen just once. Nothing since, but I have been having a lot of bad back pain.. anyone experience anything similar? Thank you Smile

@Mummyofkiara

Hi, I'm 5 weeks and getting lots of cramp and back pain. Stressing out

Mummyofkiara · 28/10/2021 10:20

Oh it’s so hard ain’t it. I do suffer with bad back anyway so I’m not sure, and I think stressing can make it worse. But I have read on the nhs website that bad back is very common in early pregnancy. So hopefully all is good xx

They gave saw me this morning and I likely have an UTI, just need to wait on the MSU to come back and did a swab. I was just telling my friend how it's so hard to tell a normal pain from something to be concerned about. Thanks for all your responses, they did reassure me!
