Hi all,

Firstly, apologies for the length of this email but bear with me.

I've been getting very sharp 'scratching/stinging' pains in my bits and wondered if anyone coudl advise.
The best way to describe it is that it feels like I have a needle stuck in the tube that you wee out of.

I only get it when walking, not when sitting, lying or weeing, and it doesnt seem to relate to babys movements. It only comes on for a second or so but, boy is it painful! it really stops me in my tracks and I cant speak until it passes.

Its in a very specific place 1-2 cm inside me, but not vaginal - nearer the front. The pain doesnt involve my abdomen/womb etc, it is just in that one very specific place.

Does it sound like it could be braxton hicks or SPD? I'm very prone to urinary infections but it doesnt feel like one.

I'm not due to see MW till next week and ddint really think it warranted the emergency unit. any advice gratefully received.

It sounds more like a UTI from my experience - not really SPD or BH. Are you sure it isn't an infection?

There is more blood flow to that area when you're Pg, which can make things feel more intense iyswim...worth getitng a sample checked just in case.

I dont think so because I'm prone to UTIs and this doesnt feel like one - doesnt hurt when I wee and urine is clear etc. i have been getting back pain round the kidneys though, but put this down to muscle ache.
Do UTIs feel different when you're pregnant?

yes, they can be 'silent' ie no pain etc. during pg. Weird isn't it? Hope you get it sorted soon x
