Spotting on and off for whole pregnancy, now 15 weeks

Hi,

Just looking for some advice really! I've been spotting on and off since around 7 weeks, only a tiny bit. Like it'll happen for 1 or 2 days then won't happen for a week etc... I'm 15 weeks now and it's still happening. I've been for more scans than anyone I know!! I'm starting to get a bit embarrassed always getting scans then getting there and they just say 'the baby is fine, no sign of anything internal'.

But I'm wondering is there any reason for this apart from something being wrong near the baby? Like is there something wrong with my cervix? No one will check me and I'm getting a bit wary that something might be wrong and they're just not checking. Sometimes it's after sex, but not always. I know it's probably normal but has anyone else had this?

If you spot after sex too, it’s quite likely you’ve got an ectropion cervix - I do, and I spotted too. Some people spot all the way through. It’s more common if you’ve used hormonal contraceptives like the pill.

It basically means your cervix has sensitive spots and the increased hormones in pregnancy are stimulating it to bleed. There’s nothing that can be done about it, but it may well stop at some point, or it could be with you until the end.

Congratulations Flowers

@TakeYourFinalPosition thank you so much for that info! It definitely sounds like that in my case! I think they're checking me this afternoon so Fingers crossed it's that and nothing more serious for me.

Thanks so much x
