Worried - pulmonary embolism and pregnancy

Hello,
I'm currently 18wks pregnant and after a few days of sharp pains in my chest and numerous tests I found out that I have a pulmonary embolism on my lung.
The first 14wks of pregnancy were overshadowed by severe hyperemesis and I wonder if the vomiting contributed towards this. I feel quite worried and fear I won't be able to relax for the rest of this pregnancy now knowing that it's there, just as I was started to finally enjoy it. Has anyone else experienced or is anyone else experiencing this and if so how long did it take to pass, how did it impact your pregnancy and birth?

Thank you

Hyperemesis is considered to be a risk factor for PE - the association may be because of dehydration and immobility as this often occurs along with the excessive vomiting. Pregnancy is a hypercoagulable state anyway, you have been unlucky. However, it is very important to ask your family about any history of blood clots as this could be significant for any other family members who might need surgery or contraception advice or surgery in the future.
You will need to have anticoagulant injections from now on until at least 6 weeks post delivery, then follow up with a haematologist.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Yeah that makes sense. I asked and my family aren't aware of any history of PE's. Yes I'm on clexane injections twice a day now.
Many thanks

Hey, just wondering how you are getting on? I'm 9 weeks pregnant with hypermesis and also been diagnosed with PEs in both lungs now so on clexane 2x a day, it's awful isn't it 😭 feel so unlucky!
