Guilt about being pregant

Hi everyone. New here! I have just found out I am pregnant - not totally unexpected as we were 'trying' but by trying I mean putting it out to the universe and, if it happened, it happened. It did - just found out this morning!

My issue: I am feeling a bit guilty about being pregnant vis-a-vis bringing new life into this crazy world, climate change etc. Is this right? Is it fair? I am suddenly so worried about what this little person will have to contend with. Anyone else experiencing this? Would love advice!

What type of advice are you looking for OP?

You're not wrong. But nor are you the only one doing it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Did you not consider what your feelings were on the topic before 'trying' to conceive?

I sympathise with you OP as I feel like this sometimes (I'm 36 weeks) However I just remind myself that there are still lots of wonderful things about the world. I avoid the news as it's all doom & gloom, throughout all of human history there have been problems in the world but I believe the good outweighs the bad & my little one will find their way 😊

Problems of today ey.

Well you have options so decide if those worries are more important than that little life growing inside you.

The way I see it, the world has always had its issues, one way or another, and equally, the world has always been wonderful, in many ways.
All you can do is raise your little person in the best way you can. Congratulations.

It can be overwhelming so try and focus on the things that are in your control. Can you use public transport, cycle or walk more? Can you cut out met from your diet. Can you buy your food with less plastic packaging? Is there a zero waste shop near you?

Can you get all your baby items second hand and reduce plastic that way? Reusable nappies? Don't use a tumble dryer, get stuff out on washing lines. Buy second hand maternity clothes. Advise friends you'd prefer that any gifts were pre-loved.
Every little helps

I think it normal to feel these things (especially these days) but don't let it spoil your pregnancy. Having a dc (one) just makes me and my dh so happy.
