Even if just you and your partner were in the know, did you do something to celebrate your BFP? :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Be nice to do something actually? Maybe a takeaway or something!
On the day I found out I was pregnant 5 years ago, my sister announced her divorce so it was kind of overshadowed. I'd probably do something this time round Thanks

We went for a long lunch & nice walk/mooch after the 12 week scan, not planned (in case of bad news) but it was a nice day. We’d both taken leave from work for the day so it was nice to do something a bit special.

Theartexhouse · 25/10/2021 16:23

No, I’ve suffered a couple of miscarriages so haven’t and wouldn’t celebrate.

SpangoDweller · 25/10/2021 16:24

Far too many “nice” in there but you get the idea! it was nice

JuneySunshine · 25/10/2021 16:28

We didn't. We were trying and I did a test quite early as there was a possible weekend of drinking planned. When it was a faint positive we we felt like it was too early to celebrate, then it kind of passed us by.

babyboybluex · 25/10/2021 16:31

First baby it was a huge shock so we went out for dinner after the doctors appointment to discuss everything, there was a family beside us with a newborn and we just looked at each other and knew it would be ok.

Second baby was planned so we just did a little dance after the positive test. Every day we celebrate by being grateful and excited for the future! I think after the 12-week scan we will go out for brunch Smile

No with Dd1 I was 15 believe me there was no celebrating in our house. My mum cried and my dad was fucking furious.
With dd2 I was 38. Didn't find out until I was 5 months. I cried and DH was in shock 😜😜

Echobelly · 25/10/2021 16:34

No, I don't think so. We had a sort of celebration the second time round as it was Christmas Day (I took a test as I wondered if it might be why I was feeling so utterly knackered) and BIL and family were over, so I told them.

romdowa · 25/10/2021 16:35

Nope I was as sick as a dog, so I lay on the couch wondering how I would make it through until birth

girlmama86 · 25/10/2021 16:42

We didn't plan anything specifically. We were going away for the weekend anyway to celebrate a birthday, had a nice meal etc booked but I couldn't eat a thing as everything made me feel sick

2typesofjungle · 25/10/2021 16:45

We went straight out for a lovely long walk so we could talk about it, but actually I think it would be really nice to do something between the two of you to mark the moment.

Amijustagrump · 25/10/2021 16:49

We went out for dinner.. little did we know it was the last meal I could eat for about 10 weeks with morning sickness Grin

Teaandcrumpets95 · 25/10/2021 17:30

Day we find out we had a takeaway and it was a nice thing to do tbh x
After our early scan and 12 week scan we ended up having lunch at a spoons after wards (not planned) but again it was nice to have that time together whilst being really happy 😊

Completely each to their own of course, there's no right or wrong thing to do or not do xx

ducksalive · 25/10/2021 17:31

We had ivf and I found out on Christmas Day.
We were ecstatic, although it meant I didn't drink my much looked forward to one glass of champagne.
Best Christmas present ever.
