Low blood pressure

The past 3 days I've had what I think is low blood pressure. I get tunnel vision, blurry eyes, followed by a migraine. Is there any way to prevent this?

I'm only 7+3 and not had my first midwife appointment yet. I'm currently off work sick due to morning sickness but wondering how I'm going to manage back at work if this is a regular occurrence. Apparently doctors only worry if it's high but surely the fact that it's disturbing my vision and stopping me doing everyday tasks is an issue?

Anyone else suffered with this? Is there a solution? I have tunnel vision, then a headache and end up having to go for a nap as the headache is too much to handle even with pain killers. I'm told it's just normal probably related to hormones and I should drink more water. That's it.

Hi, I've had low blood pressure and doctors weren't worried about it said to drink more water. Take your time when standing up etc...but I also found out I had low iron which was causing the low blood pressure. Once I started iron supplements my blood pressure came back up bit.

@Curlymam88 - thanks curly. No one has mentioned iron. I'm only taking vitamins that contain folic acid and vitamin D. I'll have a look at some other supplements

They test for iron at your 12 week appointment and can give you tablets then. Maybe get in touch with your doctor as you're early on and maybe they could check your iron levels for you before you buy your own iron.

I thought migraines and vision problems were symptoms of high blood pressure.

@Maui69 - no, blurred vision, dizziness etc is a result of low blood pressure

The only solution I have found so far is very strong coffee. Obviously thats not recommended but its the only thing that worked for me and the only way I could get through.

Around 12 weeks now so hoping to speak to MW and find a better solution.

But yes if you have tunnel vision I would call someone asap.

That sounds extreme. Mine was heart palpatations every time I changed position and extreme nausea until I raised my blood pressure.

Yes, my blood pressure if frequently low circa 88/50

It sucks. Def take iron - I’ve found active iron (there’s pregnancy and non pregnancy) has helped me feel better - don’t wait until your bloods though as taking iron isn’t harmful and I would try it for a few weeks and see if things improve. As your body is starting to work overdrive it takes everything from you, I feel you though, it’s not very nice and there’s not anything they can ‘do’ as such
